Waffles

Our own recipe made from scratch each day.  They’re not your Mamma’s  Waffles.  They’re STREET WAFFLES like those found all around the world.

Street Waffles
Made from a yeast dough instead of a baking powder batter, these waffles are Belgium’s other waffle. They have all the fresh ingredients found in a great brioche along with a secret Belgian ingredient. This ingredient is part of what makes the Street Waffle different from any other Belgian waffle.

In Belgium, these waffles are so prevelant on the streets, shopkeepers post signs prohibiting tourists and locals from standing in front of their windows eating these waffles or entering the stores dripping powdered sugar or toppings on their merchandise.

Street Waffels have a more substantial texture and flavor than their cousins found in American pancake houses. A crisp outer crust (from the carmelization caused by a 400 degree cast iron baker) opens to reveal a light, hot, and chewy interior.   The Classic is beautiful and tasty in its simplicity: Just a light dusting of powdered sugar

I just stopped by your spot at Sixth & Armory….and had a delicious Classic. Thank you for the idea, the market to get the word out, and the delicious-ness that is the Street Waffle.
